Family Systems Work
When working with children and teens individually, I encourage collaboration and inclusion of family members in treatment. Because families are interconnected, I seek to better understand how current dynamics affect everyone in the family system. I like to set goals with clients to increase their likelihood of successful outcomes and an improved quality of life. Ultimately, this leads to increased feelings of connection, improved communication, and an overall healthier family system.
Parenting Support
Raising children can be the most rewarding yet challenging experience in one’s adult life. Through an attachment lens, I work with parents to help navigate parenting struggles, such as setting appropriate limits/boundaries, effective communication, conflict management and resolution, emotional and behavioral regulation, social media and screen time issues, temperament differences, and navigating life transitions. I work collaboratively with parents to provide guidance and practical tools to empower parents and families to create a positive, nurturing, cohesive, and connected family environment. Research has shown that children who have a positive connection with their family system have increased resilience to deal with life’s many challenges, helping them to grow and thrive.
Group Counseling
We all need connection. Connection is an essential part of our well-being, and we cannot survive without it. Group therapy can be a valuable tool for finding validation, gaining support from others, and reducing feelings of isolation. I offer a range of groups designed to meet the specific needs of parents and teens.
Groups are limited to 10 participants and typically meet for eight weeks. Group members will have the opportunity to connect, share, and learn with one another. All sessions are structured to provide a safe and confidential space for all participants so each individual can improve their overall functioning and well-being. If you are interested in participating in one of these therapy groups, please email me for more information, including start dates, times, and fees.
